Castle Hill Middleham, Middleham DL8 4QG, UK – 0370 333 1181
Where Richard III spent his childhood. Very knocked about but still impressive. There are steps up one if the corner towers which give a good view over about 1/2 way around the surrounding countryside. There are useful displays around the castle giving artists' impressions of how it could have looked when in use. There is also a small display in the cabin just in side the castle entrance which tells the background and history of the castle.
Lovely place and lovely lady at reception. Nice place to walk with the dog. Great views if you can make it to the top of the tower.
