Richard III Hotel

Market Place, Middleham DL8 4NP, UK – 01969 623240

We were staying in Middleham on a cottage holiday. It is a lovely quiet village and Richard III Hotel was very nice. We went for breakfast and the staff were friendly and helpful giving us information on the local area, the bar/restaurant is very well presented with a horse racing theme in fitting with the general area. With some very funny horse racing sayings around the room we ate in. The place is child friendly and the breakfast we ate was very nice although quite expensive in my opinion. Would recommend

We booked ahead and went for dinner. The food was wonderful. Probably best described as upmarket pub grub. The specials board was longer than the menu too! The service was great, everything arrived quickly and the staff were friendly and accommodating. Can't comment on the hotel as we didn't stay, but I can definitely recommend the restaurant, but I'd definitely recommend booking ahead.

White Swan Hotel

Middleham, Leyburn DL8 4PE, UK – 01969 622093

Nice and rustic, clean rooms, pet friendly in a lovely village. Nice food and a very friendly staff

Lovely company fantastic rooms, definitely reccomend for a little get away.

The Black Swan Hotel

Market Pl, Middleham DL8 4NP, UK – 01969 622246

had a lovely drink here!

It was ok for the reason booked, a bed and bathroom. Other than that I would advise to shop around for somewhere else to stay. The room was ok but obviously a place not in tune.with the hospitality trade as it resembled a bit of make due joinery, throw a couple of false walls up and stick in a bathroom.

Pubs, Gastro Pubs and Bars

The Blue Lion Inn, Pub and Restaurant with Accommodation

Main Road, East Witton, Nr Leyburn DL8 4SN, UK – 01969 624273

Having eaten here on a number of occasions, I have always found the food different and wonderful. The ambiance (we prefer the bar) is relaxed and informal. Service is attentive and friendly. Very highly recommended.

Food was good but not quite up to the local hype this place receives. No better than the Sandpiper at Leyburn, which is quite a bit cheaper. Service was good. Overall a good experience, but I had expected great

Sandpiper Inn

Market Place, Leyburn DL8 5AT, UK – 01969 622206

Superb food and excellent service. Highly recommended.

Well appointed, nice food & drink, nice staff.

Travel Super Market search and compare prices for hotels all over the world. Could also be useful for you. I This said I was told by a hotelier that the way to get cheap rooms is to ring up the week before and ask for the weekend rate. You can usually get an absolute bargain as they will trying to book all the rooms that they have not sold! Could be worth a try!

Bed & Breakfast Accommodation plus Guesthouses

Eastfield Lodge Bed & Breakfast

1 St Matthew's Terrace, Leyburn DL8 5EL, UK – 01969 623196

Whole gang of us took over this place for a short holiday. We had a wonderful time. Enhanced by fantastic staff. They even joined in our fancy dress "Last of the Summer Wine" themed last supper there. Good food. Superb tea & cake each afternoon on our return. Highly recommended.

Very pleasant B&B, warm welcome, secure bike storage and very comfy room with plenty of attention to detail. We found everything we needed e.g. how nice to have a corkscrew and wine glasses supplied in the room, and the lemon cake left for guests in the entrance hall was delicious with a cup of tea in the communal lounge. The dedicated drying room in site must also be very handy for walkers or cyclists who need clothing dried after a long day out. Our room was beautiful and homely - heartily recommend!

Oak Lodge Bed & Breakfast

Fantastic views fantastic place...😙

On arrival I was greeted with a lovely warm greeting and shown to my room. The views from the house are stunning and in a lovely location. Breakfast was lovely and nothing too much trouble. I travel a lot and this is the first time I have been compelled to review any accommodation I have stayed in. Would stay again, next time for pleasure rather than business!

If you would like something truly different you might like to have a look at Airbnb. These are mostly B and Bs provided by people on a very informal basis. The may have a spare room, a yurt, a cottage or a barge with space they can receive guests for a night or a month! The website is highly professional. You can really see what you are going to get. Very well worth a look. Airbnb also show 'conventional' B&Bs as well. Enjoy!

What a gem of a site to which we have visited a few times. Site is well maintained with clean facilities. Richard the owner is one of the friendliest most helpful people you will find. Views over looking the valley towards Middleham offer some stunning views. With Leyburn on your doorstep and walks galore What more could you ask for. Highly recommended.

Delighted to find this lovely Caravan site. Richard was really helpful, helping me to set up. The new utility room is brilliant. Beautiful view from the site.
